WPPS Čierny Váh produces electricity with a power of 665 MW, that is obtained by using the energy of the water pumped from the lower tank into the upper tank. The upper tank is built 430 m above the river valley at an altitude of 1160 meters above sea level. During the construction 2.077 million m3 of embankments and 2.885 m3 of ditches were built. A volume of 82 thousand m3 of concreting works were carried out. 196 thousand m3 of asphalt-concrete seals (8 cm shells from a dense waterproof asphalt-concrete on top of 8 cm base layer) were placed.
