The refurbishment/extension of the Bratislava - Trnava motorway stretch from the four-lane to six-lane road. The number of lanes was designed within the existing motorway bed, to the detriment of the motorway shoulder and the central reservation. The first stage involved treatment of the outer traffic lane which presents the extension of the carriageway as such. Under another stage the grassy central reservation was eliminated and concrete barriers were installed to get another road segment. As a result, there are three traffic lanes in one direction, the width of 3.50 m each, instead of just two lanes with the width of 3.75 m. There were 5,500 tonnes of bitumen-coated mixture laid along the Trnava to Senec route; for the opposite direction, it was 6 000 tonnes. For all of the work, the execution was underway with two lanes of the motorway stretch kept available all the time.
