D3 Hričovské Podhradie - Žilina (Strážov)2005-2007

The D3 motorway stretch Hričovské Podhradie - Kysucké Nové Mesto is part of the priority D1-D3 motorway within the Bratislava - Trenčín - Žilina - Skalité route with connection to Poland and turning to the Czech Republic. With regard to the time line of the construction of each of the stretches the D3 Hričovské Podhradie - Kysucké Nové Mesto motorway splits into the following works:
Stretch I: D3 Hričovské Podhradie - Žilina (Strážov)
Stretch II: Žilina (Strážov) - Kysucké Nové Mesto
The D3 Hričovské Podhradie - Žilina (Strážov) motorway stretch starts in the valley of Vážska kotlina at Dolný Hričov - a grade-separated junction of the D1 and D3 motorways by connecting to the D1 motorway stretch of Vrtižer - Hričovské Podhradie. The route runs through the alluvial plain of the River Váh in the cadastral area of Dolny Hričov, north from its settlement area along a railway track. In the locality of Dolný Hričov, the route crosses, by a bridge, the railway track, running along it in the territory found to the south of the municipality of Horný Hričov. The motorway route continues along the Hričov dam over the foot of the Háj and Dúbrava hills in Žilinská Lehota. The end of Stretch I of the D3 motorway is located within the grade-separated junction of Žilina (Strážov) that is to ensure connecting to the 1/18 road. The D3 motorway is designed in the D 26.5/100 category; within the km 6.650 to 6.850 stretch, it is the D24.5/100 category.
